Milla Jovovich Has Gorgeous Legs in a Short Dress and Elegant High Heels

March 31, 2011 By WebGlitzer

Milla Jovovich looks gorgeous showing off her beautiful legs in a short dress and high heels as she makes her way down the red carpet for some event. She has sexy long legs and is a very stylish woman. As a former model you can tell she knows what she is doing as she displays her lovely features. Have to admit the dress is kind of wacky but I like that it is short and the high heels are very nice.

Liv Tyler Crossed Legs in High Heels

March 30, 2011 By WebGlitzer

Not a huge fan of Liv Tyler but she does have long sexy legs that are difficult to ignore. She appeared on some late night gabfest wearing too much black and a pair of ugly high heels. Not sure what is going on with the leggings underneath a pair of shorts but her long legs were somewhat on display and it was nice to see her crossed legs. I don’t believe she can do better because she usually sucks when it comes to fashion.

Katharine McPhee Has Sexy Legs in a Curve Hugging Mini Skirt and High Heels

March 30, 2011 By WebGlitzer

Katharine McPhee has a great body. She has slipped herself inside a very tight and curve hugging mini dress as she attends some Broadway event. Her pretty legs look nice and are fully accentuated wearing sexy high heel. She looks fit though if she loses one more pound she won’t be looking so good. Have to keep a few pounds on to remain curvy which is way better than looking scary skinny.

Dana Delany Has Nice Curves in a Tight Leather Dress and High Heels

March 29, 2011 By WebGlitzer

Dana Delany looks gorgeous in her tight leather dress and multi colored high heeled. I have had a celebrity crush on this woman since China Beach. She has a great body and always does a nice job of decorating it. Somewhat disappointingly she hardly ever wears anything short now as most stylish and classy older women keep the hem at the knee but you can still tell she has sexy legs.

Sean Penn must have some major mojo…

March 29, 2011 By WebGlitzer

Sean Penn dating Scarlett Johansson

I’ve been pretending that the buzz around ScarJo and Sean Penn were horrible, awful lies, but it seems that I can no longer live in denial. The two were first spotted at a party in LA earlier this year, with a few other disturbing spottings in between, including a little rendezvous in Mexico. Still, I lived in my denial because there is no way 26 year-old Scarlett Johansson and 50 year-old Sean Penn were an actual couple. I mean, how does one go from Ryan Reynolds to Sean Penn?

That’s something I’ll likely never know, but seeing as how the two were spotted together at Reese Witherspoon‘s wedding to Jim Toth this weekend- well, I can no longer live in denial.

Oh, and by “seen together”, I mean that Sean was officially ScarJo’s date. And a Mexican fling is one thing, but taking your man to a wedding is a pretty good indication of an actual relationship.

A friend of ScarJo tells PopEater, “Scarlet is Jim’s client, but no one, including the bride, new she would have turned up with Sean Penn. Turning up at a wedding with your boyfriend is definitely a huge statement, especially that wedding. What it’s doing is announcing to the whole of Hollywood that they are serious.”

So, I’m guessing it’s official. ScarJo is dating this guy…

Dania Ramirez Has Gorgeous Legs in a Silver Mini Skirt and High Heels

March 28, 2011 By WebGlitzer

Dania Ramirez is a smoking hot babe with gorgeous legs. She is very stylish and tends to wear her attire tight and short and she loves her high heels. She is one of my favorite celebrities. She thoroughly embraces her hotness and enjoys showing off her good fortune of having good genes. Her legs are fit and shapely. What a lovely woman.

What Bill Gates Could Learn from Chris Rock

March 27, 2011 By WebGlitzer

Editor’s note: The following guest post is by bestselling author and former venture capitalist Peter Sims.  His next book is Little Bets: How Breakthrough Ideas Emerge from Small Discoveries. He can be found on Twitter @petersims.

In his recent article on TechCrunch, “Engineering vs. Liberal Arts: Who’s Right—Bill or Steve?,” Vivek Wadhwa sparked a national debate about education that raises important questions for us all.

If you haven’t read the article yet, Wadhwa, a professor at Berkeley and Duke University, surveyed 652 chief executive officers and heads of product engineering at 502 U.S. technology companies and found that only 37% held engineering or computer technology degrees, and just 2% held mathematics degrees.  The rest had a wide range of degrees, from business to the humanities.

Yet in industry and education circles, STEM – teaching science, technology, engineering, and mathematics – has gained cult-like status as the primary solution to our national innovation challenges. Earlier this year, President Obama announced a $ 250 million public-private initiative to recruit and train 10,000 more STEM teachers.  Bill Gates is one of the leading proponents of STEM while, as Wadhwa notes, implying that other educational investments, such as the liberal arts, should be curtailed.

But while investment in STEM is critical, it alone neglects the development of the types of skills that actually lead to discovery, creativity, and innovation.

So, for instance, when comedian Chris Rock performs on HBO, the work is widely considered brilliantly creative, yet his routines, as with all stand-up comedians, are the output of what he has learned from thousands of little bets in small clubs, nearly all of which initially fail.  (As Stanford Professor Bob Sutton notes, writers for The Onion, known for its hilarious headlines, propose roughly six hundred possibilities for eighteen headlines each week, a 3 percent success rate.)  Rock must persistently tinker using an iterative approach to discover and develop fresh material.  And the cycle repeats, day in, day out.

Similarly, as I described in my last TC guest post, despite the myths, most successful entrepreneurs don’t begin with brilliant ideas, they discover them.

It’s an approach that can be learned and taught, but rarely is in today’s schools.

That’s because our educational system emphasizes spoon-feeding us knowledge, such as scientific tables or historical information, and then testing us in order to measure how much we’ve retained about that body of knowledge, rather than teaching us how to create knowledge.

Utilizing existing knowledge works perfectly well for many situations, but not when doing something new, creative, or original.

We are given very little opportunity, for instance, to perform our own original experiments, and there is also little or no margin for failure or mistakes.  We are judged primarily on getting answers right.  There is much less emphasis on developing our creative thinking abilities, our abilities to let our minds run imaginatively and to discover things on our own.

This must change.

In an extensive, six-year study about the way creative business executives think, Professors Jeffrey Dyer of Brigham Young University and Hal Gregersen of INSEAD, surveyed over three thousand executives and interviewed five hundred people who had either started innovative companies or invented new products, including the likes of Steve Jobs, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, and VMware’s Diane Greene.

They found several “discovery skills” that distinguished the innovators from the non-innovators, including experimenting, observing, questioning, and networking with people from diverse backgrounds. As Gregersen summed up their findings: “You might summarize all of the skills we’ve noted in one word: ‘inquisitiveness.’”

When Barbara Walters interviewed Larry Page and Sergei Brin, rather than crediting their computer science degrees as the driving factor behind their success, they pointed to their early Montessori education.  (The Montessori learning method, founded by Maria Montessori, emphasizes self-directed learning, tinkering, and discovery, particularly for young children.)  “We both went to Montessori school,” Page said, “And I think it was part of that training of not following rules and orders, and being self-motivated, questioning what’s going on in the world, doing things a little bit differently.”

These findings raise critical questions for us all. Specifically, what is the purpose of education?  Is it to convey knowledge, as the current system is weighted, or it to inspire and nurture the ability to constantly learn?

Even though it’s too late for most of us to attend Montessori, we can change the way we’ve been trained to think.  That begins in small, achievable ways, with increased experimentation and inquisitiveness.  Those who work with Jeff Bezos, for example, find his ability to ask “why not?” or “what if?” as much as “why?” to be one of his most advantageous qualities.  That’s why, borrowing a phrase from Ryan Jacoby, an associate partner atIDEO: questions are the new answers.

HOW TO: Land a Job at Amazon

March 26, 2011 By WebGlitzer

Amazon‘s business model hit the ground running in the 1990s by revolutionizing retail and e-commerce. In recent years, the company has built on its success, transforming our reading habits and how we store data by selling e-readers and cloud computing services.

Now Amazon is bolstering its workforce to accommodate its growing line of products and services, which have doubled the company’s annual profit in the past three years. Its online jobs board lists 1,900 available positions at its Seattle headquarters alone. That’s twice as many openings the company had last year, reports The Seattle Times.

So how can you get in on the Amazon action that’s already 33,700 employees strong? Here are some tips and resources from the company’s recruiters for landing a job at Amazon.

Who Is Amazon Looking For?

Nearly half of the open positions at Amazon’s headquarters are tech jobs, but the company is also hiring recruiters, buyers and product managers at all levels of expertise.

Amazon has offices, fulfillment centers, customer service centers and software development centers throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. There are currently openings in all geographies, says Susan Harker, director of Global Talent Acquisition at Amazon.

What’s the Application & Interview Process Like?

The Amazon Careers website lists all open positions by category and location. You can also enter keywords if the drop-down menus don’t quite have what you’re looking for.

After you upload your resume to a specific job posting on the site, it’s up for review. Amazon’s recruiters actively review applicants whose resumes come in through the careers site, and they reach out to those who may be a good fit, says Harker. However, many of them are very active on LinkedIn, and Harker encourages applicants to reach out there.

For most positions, the interview process begins with a phone interview. So, how do you get through that?

“Well-prepared candidates know our business and technologies, and they’re able to talk in detail about anything that is included on the resume,” Harker says.

If it goes well on both sides, candidates are brought on-site for an in-person interview with a hiring manager and a few team members. Matt Goyer, a former software design engineer candidate, says in a blog post that his interview at Amazon HQ took six-and-a-half hours. Interviewers asked questions about his previous experience, technical skills and understanding of current industry trends. Goyer says he prepared by diligently studying books with sample interview questions and problems.

Still, interview experiences vary. The best you can do is “let your passion and enthusiasm show through,” Goyer says. “Don’t let your nerves get the best of you.”

How Is the Company Culture?

Amazon’s motto is: “Start with the customer and work backwards.” Employees are expected to focus on the customer in all projects and innovations.

Showing signs of leadership and taking initiative is also important. “Every Amazonian is guided by our leadership principles, which include thinking long-term, innovating and thinking big on behalf of our customers,” says Harker. “We believe that every employee is a leader, whether you’re an individual contributor or a manager of a large team.”

If this sounds like you, it might be worth trying your luck at one of those thousands of current openings. If you do, remember to be prepared, confident and enthusiastic. Show you’re an innovative leader worth paying attention to.

Have you scored a job at Amazon or are you trying to? What has your experience been like? Tell us in the comments below.

Uma Thurman Has Sexy Legs in an Ugly Dress and High Heels

March 26, 2011 By WebGlitzer

Uma Thurman has sexy legs. They are long, and judging by the gams displayed at the bottom of her ugly dress, are toned and fit as well. I’ve always rather liked this woman. She’s tall and has a nice slim body. When she wants to she can be very elegant and gorgeous. Sometimes you have to wonder about her choice of fashion though. This dress she has on is rather unappealing. Is it a coat? Is it a dress? Anyway, her high heels are pretty and they accentuate her gorgeous legs nicely.
