You might be forgiven if you didn’t notice her awful hairstyle or underwhleming cleavage. This was all about her long legs. Even ugly metallic high heels cannot distract your eyes from the leg show being presented on the event carpet. Well done.

I actually love this track, and this video is quite clever using Katy’s Facebook timeline to showcase the lyrics. I still remember when I couldn’t stand her one bit, and now I would call myself a fan, not her hugest fan but she somehow managed to win me over in the end.

Today is the start of a long weekend up here in Canada because of Victoria Day! Although it’s not really a holiday, but we get an extra day to do nothing, so we just take it plus there’s fireworks) so while we go get ready to celebrate practically nothing, I’m just going to go ahead and leave you with this new video of teen bride and famewhore extraordinaire Courtney Stodden pretending to be Hello Kitty, as interpreted by someone who has no idea who Hello Kitty is. Although it does feature this incredibly disturbing and very uncomfortable super cute scene where Courtney plays in a litter box! A Supernova Cocoon Breakthrough
NASA – Observations with NASA’s Chandra X-ray Observatory have provided the first X-ray evidence of a supernova shock wave breaking through a cocoon of gas surrounding the star that exploded. This discovery may help astronomers understand why some supernovas are much more powerful than others.

On Nov. 3, 2010, a supernova was discovered in the galaxy UGC 5189A, located about 160 million light years away. Using data from the All Sky Automated Survey telescope in Hawaii taken earlier, astronomers determined this supernova exploded in early October 2010 (in Earth’s time-frame).

This composite image of UGC 5189A shows X-ray data from Chandra in purple and optical data from Hubble Space Telescope in red, green and blue. SN 2010jl is the very bright X-ray source near the top of the galaxy.

A team of researchers used Chandra to observe this supernova in December 2010 and again in October 2011. The supernova was one of the most luminous that has ever been detected in X-rays. more> https://tinyurl.com/bpe4u2w

If she wants to show off her legs then the perfect shoes to accentuate them are chosen. If only the fashion freaks of Hollywood were as talented. You know who you are.

She got the attention front and back. I’ve always found it interesting how they set up the actresses for photos at Cannes. They have them posing in front of table where the cameras work front and back. I guess the talent enjoys the attention. They certainly can’t have a handgup about being objectified.

NASA LENDS GALAXY EVOLUTION EXPLORER
TO CALTECH

NASA – NASA is lending the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX) to the California Institute of Technology (Caltech) in Pasadena, where the spacecraft will continue its exploration of the cosmos. In a first-of-a-kind move for NASA, a Space Act Agreement was signed May 14 so the university soon can resume spacecraft operations and data management for the mission using private funds.

“NASA sees this as an opportunity to allow the public to continue reaping the benefits from this space asset that NASA developed using federal funding,” said Paul Hertz, NASA’s Astrophysics Division director at the agency’s headquarters in Washington. “This is an excellent example of a public/private partnership that will help further astronomy in the United States.” more> https://tinyurl.com/7vh5usw

Artist’s concept of Galaxy Evolution Explorer
The Galaxy Evolution Explorer was launched on April 28, 2003. Its mission is to study the shape, brightness, size and distance of galaxies across 10 billion years of cosmic history. The 50-centimeter-diameter (19.7-inch) telescope onboard the Galaxy Evolution Explorer sweeps the skies in search of ultraviolet-light sources.

Ultraviolet is light from the higher end of the electromagnetic spectrum, just above visible light in frequency, but below X-rays and gamma rays. While a small amount of ultraviolet penetrates Earth’s atmosphere, causing sunburn, the Galaxy Evolution Explorer observes those ultraviolet frequencies that can only be seen from space.

The Galaxy Evolution Explorer mission is led by the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, Calif., which is also responsible for science operations and data analysis. NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif., a division of Caltech, manages the mission and built the science instrument. The mission was developed under NASA’s Explorers Program, managed by the Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, Md. South Korea and France are the international partners in the mission.
